The Hospital Particular in Alvor will be setting in motion a series of energy consumption rationalization measures, based on energy efficient solutions, with the object of producing energy for self-consumption. The goal is to achieve an annual energy saving of 35.000euros per year.
The company responsible for carrying out the project is Vivapower Selfenergy, specialists in this area. The project will include a photovoltaic “Carpark” where 330 solar panels will be installed, totalling an investment of 135.000euros.
The photovoltaic plant will have an output of 85,8 kWp and an annual energy production capacity of 149 MWh for the exclusive consumption of the Hospital. According to Vivapower the hospital’s annual energy bill will be reduced by 23.000eruros.
The project will also include the implementation of an energy management system, the installation of a natural gas boiler and the replacement of the traditional light fittings by LED technology. An annual saving of over 7.600euros in lighting is expected.
Funding for the project resulted from the approval of an application made to AFI – Support Fund for Innovation, promoted and managed by ADENE.
