HPA Group reaches its 200th robotic knee surgery

Three years ago, HPA Group took an innovative step in the field of orthopaedics by introducing robotic surgery for total knee arthroplasty, becoming a pioneer in Portugal in the use of this technology.

Knee arthroplasty, also known as total knee replacement, is a surgical procedure that replaces a damaged joint with an implant, with the aim of relieving pain and improving the patient’s function and quality of life. The introduction of robotic instrumentation has enabled more precise and personalised planning, taking into account not only the bone anatomy but also the balance of soft tissues, such as muscles and ligaments.

Since its implementation, this technique has contributed to greater accuracy in implant positioning and to increasingly consistent clinical and functional outcomes. The consolidation of this practice is evidenced by the achievement of the 200th surgery in this area, placing us at the forefront of robotic arthroplasty in our country.

HPA Group’s continued commitment to technological innovation and clinical differentiation reflects a strong dedication to excellence in care, placing the patient at the centre of its approach and continuously striving to improve levels of satisfaction and safety.
