The dream of sharing the moment of birth has always been present both professionally and personally. In 2005 he began to realize his passion by beginning his Specialization in Maternal Health and Obstetric Nursing. In 2007 he was the first male Specialist Nurse to work in the Gynaecology / Obstetrics Unit of the Hospital Dr Nelio de Mendonca in Madeira.
In 2009 he was chosen by the World Health Organization (WHO) / Instituto Português de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento (IPAD) to join the project of training midwives in Eastern Timor. His passion for pregnancy and childbirth led him to undergo several training and coordination projects in Obstetrics. He is currently the coordinator of the Woman Health and Maternity Unit of the Hospital Particular in Madeira. He is also one of the members responsible for the Nursing Specialization Course in Mothers Health and Obstetrics at the São José de Cluny School of Nursing.
He joined the To Be Born project as he believes the quality and safety of childbirth in Madeira can be improved.
