For 12 years, DENTAL HPA has been transforming smiles, promoting oral health, and restoring self-esteem to its patients. 
It is present in the Algarve, the Alentejo, and now also in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. Inaugurated in November 2022, DENTAL HPA, located in Funchal on Avenida do Infante, is the tenth dental unit of the HPA Health Group and the first in the region. 
In Madeira, DENTAL HPA is part of the network of hospitals and clinics of the HPA Health Group – Madeira, which includes the Madeira Medical Center, the Private Hospital of Madeira, and B.clinic. 
We spoke with the Clinical Coordinator, Dr. Cátia Caires, to give you a glimpse of Dental HPA – Madeira.

DENTAL HPA has been in existence for 12 years and is present in the Algarve, the Alentejo, and now also in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. 
What led you to embrace this project and take on the clinical coordination of DENTAL HPA in Madeira?
First of all, I want to thank the proposal that was extended to me and consequently to my clinical team, who will accompany us on this journey. Initially, I was presented with a challenge with which I identified in several aspects. 
Firstly, the fact of being part of a multidisciplinary team with a direct connection to the hospital environment brings many advantages for us doctors, but mainly for the patients. 
Being integrated into this network, we can evaluate the patient as a whole, maintaining direct communication with other specialties, which facilitates communication among colleagues and rapid and effective access to all clinical data of the patients. 
For this reason, and because it is increasingly important to work as a team, and being in line with the objectives that the administration has for the present and future, based on innovation and differentiation in terms of facilities, equipment, and quality materials, I accepted this challenge with the conviction that together we will work towards the same goal, the patient's health.

At DENTAL HPA, oral health is synonymous with quality of life and happiness for its patients. 
How does Dental HPA Madeira meet the needs of the patient?
As I mentioned earlier, there are several advantages for the patient to be treated in a multidisciplinary unit. In our particular case, we have a close and direct relationship with B.clinic, with the intention of combining and merging two complementary areas in order to achieve a better final result, according to the patient's goals. Another exclusive advantage will be the possibility of performing certain clinical procedures in a hospital environment, for example, some surgeries that require greater patient monitoring and other types of anesthesia, rather than local anesthesia, in an environment specifically prepared for this purpose. In addition to being equipped with the best technology in terms of facilities, equipment, and consumables.

Innovation, professional specialization, and differentiated approaches are fundamental pillars of DENTAL HPA. How would you characterize the clinical team in Madeira?
Our team is characterized by specialized patient care, based on academic differentiation and postgraduate qualifications, always undergoing continuous training to ensure we are up-to-date with the best techniques and at the forefront of innovative and differentiated procedures. 
We also offer special attention to patients to understand their goals and to work together towards achieving those objectives, ensuring that both parties feel mutually satisfied throughout the treatments, emphasizing mutual trust and a relationship of trust between both parties.

The services are similar between the two clinics since the clinical team will also be similar.

What are your ambitions and expectations for the future of DENTAL HPA Madeira?
We expect to gradually establish ourselves in the regional market in relation to Dentistry, focusing not only on technology but also on the qualification of our professionals. This is how we will assert ourselves, to grow and provide greater coverage and easier access to oral health care in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
