This is a date that promotes the prevention of accidents at work and occupational illnesses.
It is part of an awareness campaign to draw international attention to the magnitude of the problem and how the promotion and creation of a health and safety culture in the workplace can help reduce the number of work-related injuries and illnesses.
Between 2020 and 2022, the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work campaign “Healthy workplaces: lighten the load” focuses on preventing work-related musculoskeletal injuries.
Risks related to posture, exposure to repetitive movements or to tired or painful positions and the lifting / shifting of heavy loads are considered to be very frequent risk factors, which can cause musculoskeletal injuries. Given the generalisation of work-related musculoskeletal injuries, it is clear that more needs to be done to raise awareness of prevention.
As such, together with the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team, a video was created with stretching exercises that employees can perform during the workday. The proposed exercises help to prevent muscle stiffness and pain, but also reduce anxiety, stress and fatigue. Join us.
