This is the name of the chapter inserted in the book “Degenerative knee, from Arthrosis to Arthroplasty”, authored by the GO - Orthopaedics Group - of the HPA Gambelas. The team of authors included João Paulo Sousa (orthopaedics coordinator of the HPA Group), Henrique Cruz, Maria Miguel Carvalho, Telmo Sacramento, Tiago Bessa Magalhães and Ana Paula Fontes.
The book is coordinated by Prof. João Gamelas and has just been edited by Lidel. The work deals in depth with the problem of knee arthrosis, from its etiopathogenesis and clinical and radiological diagnosis, to its treatment, conservative or surgical, in its different options and indications, depending on the stage of the disease.
The invitation addressed to the GO was related to the vast experience the team has in knee arthroplasty using specific instrumentation, which makes it one of the internationally recognized training and experiment centres.
