Main goal:
Group music therapy is an opportunity for adolescents to express themselves and develop their self-esteem, self-confidence and social skills.
Methodologies:
Therapeutic group in which will be used receptive music therapy tecniques (musical listening, guided images with music and relaxation) and active tecniques (recreation and composition of songs, improvisation, singing, lyrics analysis). At the end of each session, there will be a moment of reflection and sharing about the emotions and thoughts evoked by the music.

General characterization:
Recipients: Adolescents between 13 and 17 years old, who have emotional, communication and social interaction difficulties.
Number of elements: 5 to 6 elements per therapeutic group
Number of sessions: 5 sessions
Duration: 50 minutes (per session)

Modality: Group sessions, closed group

Music therapist: Dr Carina Freitas – Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Music therapist
Notes: Participants do not need to have musical training, but it is important to enjoy music.
Before starting the program, each participant needs an individual clinical evaluation in a Child Psychiatry Consultation to assess whether they meet the eligibility criteria to join the therapeutic group.
