Special Exams

The Special Tests Units of the Grupo HPA Saúde has dedicated professional  staff,  with extensive experience in each specific area and  with the capacity to perform  the various tests while at the same time proving excellent patient care.

Our patients’ satisfaction, information, safety and comfort are our main concerns.  For this reason, various departments are in permanent communication with the anaesthetic unit to ensure that some tests are carried out in the presence of an anaesthetist thus increasing their safety.  For the comfort of our patients, we recommend that certain tests should be carried out under sedation.

The Special Tests Unit is part of the Outpatients Department of the Grupo HPA Saúde and offers a variety of medical procedures, necessary for the maintenance and recovery of our patients’ health, while at the same time, proving preventative medical care. All tests are carried out on an Outpatient basis. Once the results of the various tests are know and if there is the need for hospital admission or referral to another medical specialty, this will always be done with the patient’s knowledge and consent.

The multidisciplinary teams that make up these special units work to:

• Provide patients with accessibility to all special tests lacking in the region.
• Liaising with the various units and specialties within the HPA Group in order to increase efficiency in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.
• Maintain and improve the health of our patients.
• Provide screening programs in various medical areas of the HPA Group, warning patients of the importance of prevention and early diagnosis in the early stages of any medical condition.
