Breastfeeding Consultation
Breastfeeding is much more than nurturing. It is a way of bonding, caring and protecting.
Breast milk contains all the nutrients your baby needs for a healthy development. Realizing the importance of breastfeeding for the health of the new-born infant and the mother, the Breastfeeding Consultation was created.
In our Department, this consultation is carried out by Paediatric Nurses, breastfeeding counsellors, with the permanent support of a Paediatrician.
This is a support consultation for parents and babies, where hunger and satiety signals are evaluated. The baby is weighed and a breastfeeding session is observed, including grip (with the respective correction if necessary).
Its main objective is to jointly define a plan for maintain and optimizing breastfeeding.
