The Hospital Particular de Gambelas recently hosted another edition of the Complete Breastfeeding Course for Expectant Mothers, an educational initiative promoted by the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department of HPA Gambelas.
The event, held in the fully booked Conference Room, brought together expectant parents eager to prepare for an informed and conscious breastfeeding journey.
Throughout the morning, participants received up-to-date information on essential topics, including breast milk production, best practices during labour and the postnatal period, colostrum expression during pregnancy, breastfeeding in the baby’s first days of life, and the prevention of the most common complications.
The training was led by Nurse Patrícia Sancho, Head Nurse of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department at HPA Gambelas, a specialist in Maternal and Obstetric Health and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Her extensive experience ensured a highly valuable and enlightening session.
The event also had a charitable purpose, with a symbolic registration fee donated to APPC – Project Life Support Centre.
