HPA Gambelas, in Faro, hosted another edition of the Gynecology Meetings on 21 March, this time dedicated to the topic of menopause.
The event, held in the Conference Room, brought together a range of specialists from different fields, providing a comprehensive and up-to-date approach to this stage in a woman’s life.
The session began with a welcome address from the Director of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department, Dr Ivone Lobo, followed by a diverse scientific programme.
Throughout the morning, key topics were discussed, including hormonal changes and the main symptoms of menopause, presented by Dr Marta Sobral, as well as new therapeutic solutions, including innovative laser-based approaches, introduced by Dr João Sassetti.
The importance of lifestyle was also highlighted, with contributions focusing on nutrition by nutritionist Dr Mariana Costa, and physical exercise by Catarina Costa. The emotional and relational aspects were likewise addressed, with a focus on sexuality during menopause, presented by Dr Patrícia Romão.
The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer panel, encouraging the sharing of doubts and experiences between participants and specialists.
With a full audience, the initiative reinforces HPA Saúde’s commitment to promoting health literacy and supporting women through the different stages of life, through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach.
