The Oncology Day Hospital at the Alvor Unit celebrated its 7th anniversary in a special event attended by healthcare professionals, guests, patients, and their families.
The session, held in the unit’s conference room, featured two main highlights: the launch of the 4th season of the OncoHPA podcast, dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October Pink), and the traditional birthday cake-cutting ceremony.
OncoHPA is the first oncology podcast from the HPA Health Group, created to bring together knowledge, innovation, and clinical practice — not only among professionals but, above all, for the wider community. In a context where scientific information evolves rapidly and misinformation can easily spread, OncoHPA stands out as a pioneering project that promotes health literacy, awareness, and a humanised approach to oncology patient care.
The new season, entirely dedicated to screening, prevention, and interdisciplinary treatment of breast cancer, will feature specialists from the HPA Health Group alongside distinguished guests, once again providing accurate, accessible, and high-quality information.
The OncoHPA podcast exemplifies how we aim to innovate and bring science closer to people in a clear, human, and responsible way. To date, the podcast has produced 10 episodes, welcomed 20 guests, and delivered 350 minutes of expert insights.
The creation of this podcast, alongside the celebration of these 7 years, reaffirms our commitment to oncology patients and the wider community.
