The appearance and volume of the inner thighs, in particular, can not only interfere with self-esteem and the use of clothing, but it can also sometimes cause discomfort due to friction when walking and playing sports. This situation may occur either due to the accumulation of localized fat, or due to excessive flabbiness (associated or not adiposity). This is often the case after pregnancies, weight variations, bariatric surgery or with age.
Depending on the situation, the improvement of the contour of the thighs can be achieved through isolated liposuction (which can be performed with local anaesthesia or sedoanalgesia, on an outpatient basis, without hospitalisation and with very small and hidden scars); or through rhytidectomy or dermolipectomy of the thighs, a surgical procedure that consists of excising excess skin and fat, directly or combined with liposuction. In this technique, performed under general anaesthesia and with a stay of 1-2 days, the scars will be oriented and camouflaged along the groin crease, and in cases of greater flaccidity, may require more extensive removal and imply an additional vertical scar, on the inner thigh.
