Breast augmentation is a relatively simple and fast surgical technique, performed under general anaesthesia and with very high and favourable results in image and self-esteem.
WHO? - any woman with the shape, volume or projection of the breast.
The recommended age is from 18 years, but in particular cases of hypo breast development, with asymmetry, symmetrisation at earlier ages may be beneficial. In cases of changes in volume or weight associated with breast fall or laxity, more frequent at older ages, breast augmentation can also be performed, with the need for simultaneous breast lifting.
HOW? - Through a small incision, which will leave an almost imperceptible scar, the procedure consists of placing implants (prostheses) whose characteristics of texture, shape, volume, and projection must meet the expectations of the patient and be appropriate to her physical characteristics, aspects that should be discussed with your surgeon. The scar is usually located in the areola or in the inferior mammary fold. The implants may have a round shape or natural appearance, in the form of a drop, textured, and with a highly cohesive silicone gel content, which allows natural flexibility and mobility.
AFTER? - Recovery is usually very well tolerated, with no need to remove sutures because they are absorbable and intradermal, with only partial limitation in the first days, and allows a quick return to daily activities. No special care is needed other than massage and wearing a bra for the first few weeks.
